Legal requirements

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 sets out the requirement for organisations to carry out risk assessments and to have suitable fire safety measures in place, including emergency lighting. Companies are advised to regularly check their emergency lights themselves, and to get professional electrical engineers to run through a full system test every year.
